You are, you.

I have felt this strong pull the past few days to post something on the topic of… Uniqueness. It is such a big blessing, as long as we think of it that way. We all are different in so many aspects. We all have different: thoughts, feelings, bodies, gifting in the Spirit, paths where we are with the Lord, ect. It is important that we remember everyone is on this journey called “life”, and we are all at different points of it. Some are not saved and do not want to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.(That’s okay though, God will grab their hearts!) Some are wishy washy and fully haven’t committed their hearts to serve him. Some are so on fire for Him, that it just shines right through them.

It’s important that we all started off in the same place. We all were knitted together in our mothers womb, we all started the same journey in life, in the same way. We may not be in the same place spiritually as the person next to us, driving by us, or talking to us, and that is totally okay. God knows what He is doing, when he places people into our lives at different points in time, and we have no idea why… Ever have the friend, you have no idea how you became friends, it became a struggle to stay their friend.. And looking back you are so grateful you did? Just remember, we are all at different points in our walk with Jesus!

So… Back to my point in this point(sorry for the rabbit trail there)… We are all unique. Society has made us think we need to be a certain way. Dress a certain way. Be a certain way. God created us to be close to Him… The rest just doesn’t matter. We need to be careful that we don’t kept swept away in the “perfection” part of life. Every where we go it seems to be the need to be perfect is elevated. We NEED to be the way God created us to be. “Perfection” is such a loose term to start with. There was only one man who was perfect, and that was Jesus… He is perfect. If we stay kingdom focused and not world focused, the need to feel perfect slowly drifts away. And yes, I am speaking from my own life. 2 Corinthians 4:16 “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.”

Most of my life, I have been told I am underweight, skinny, a twig, the list goes on and on. It amazes me how many people don’t realize how hurtful those comments can and are… Lately, I have been learning, I am who GOD created me to be, the rest doesn’t matter. I may not ever be over 105(except pregnancy) and you know what… That is okay, why? Because God didn’t intend to give me a big frame. It is OKAY to be you, to be the person God created you to be, the person HE wants you to be. Psalm 139:14.. “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

Words hurt, yes. I’m not going to tell you those comments didn’t hurt because they SO did, and sometimes they still do bother me. Again, it comes back to the aspect of… The more kingdom focused we are, the less the rest doesn’t matter. Take joy in the person God created you to be… Perfection is only something we have created, and it can never be accomplished. So shoot for being Christ like. Be raw and real! It’s not always easier, but it is fruitful!
