Doomsday Smoozday

Yeah, I get it. I totally made up a word. Smoozday. Oh well, anyone want to be the grammar police for me? It sounded good at the time, so don’t knock the messenger! Anyone who has access to any type of social media and or television has seen the horrendous blood poured out on American soil recently. It’s horrifying to even think about. We live in a nation that most everyone outside of America wants a piece of. That American dream, right? My family did. First generation American right here ladies and gentlemen  (so yeah, I take my citizenship seriously!) Here we are with something happening in what we call a massive scale on what seems to be a monthly basis.

With the chaos going around us, I see so many Christians saying, “Jesus come back soon. I don’t want my kids to grow up in this enviroment.” Yet, my thinking is the total opposite. If you don’t know me very well, that may come as a surprise to you. I think in a way the Christian culture has shifted to this doomsday way of thinking when tragedy happens. Instead of getting on our knees and praying for our nation, we run our feelings all over social media. Instead of praying that those that would do harm turn their hearts and minds to Jesus that want to cause harm, or are doped in false theology that they need to harm to receive eternal benefits. I get it, it is frustrating, gnarly, and heart breaking to see evil feel like it has a grip on our society. Here is the thing though, we have a key to this world, that it so desperately needs. Can you guess what it is, Jesus? jesus is key

What if Jesus came back tomorrow and your: grandbabies, neighbors, parents, siblings, spouse, boss, or just the sweet postal worker who brings your mail missed their chance to know who Jesus is? All because we have forgotten that Jesus already holds the key to this world, and He is just waiting for us to give our hearts to Him? We have free will, period. We aren’t programmed robots. Yes, chaos is going to continue to happen. It has since before we were a thought in our mothers heart. If you want to get to the nitty gritty, chaos has been going on way before we made our appearance on earth. Just look at Sodom and Gomorrah.

I wholeheartly encourage you to remind yourself we are here in God’s perfect timing. He planned us to be here for events such as these. Don’t get sucked up into negative thinking. You deserve better. Our children deserve better. Jesus deserves better. Set your eyes and hearts on things above this world. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2
